A business woman from the West Midlands is set to receive recognition of her role in promoting enterprise skills and attitudes in others in the UK.
Sally Arkley, Director of the Women’s Business Development Agency (WBDA) will be bestowed with a Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) at Buckingham Palace in July.
Commenting on her success, she said: "Although it means a great deal to me personally, I feel I'm also receiving this award for the West Midlands region and I hope it will further enhance and promote the role of women in enterprise."
Ms Arkley's husband, David, who was a founding director of the University of Warwick Science Park, also received a QAEP in 2006. They are thought to be the first husband and wife to have both been honoured with the award.
The QAEPs are held annually and honour up to ten individuals who have played a significant and outstanding role in promoting enterprise. This year's successes were announced on April 21st.
